We also want to make you aware of the following internship offered by HazingPrevention.Org for Winter/Spring 2012. This intern will live with the CAMPUSPEAK intern but will be working with an entirely separate organization (not far from our offices here in the Denver area). Note that if you are interested in this internship, you must do a SEPARATE application per the instructions below. The following is an abbreviated announcement. To get the full announcement sent to you as a PDF, contact Tracy Maxwell. Her info is below.
HAZING PREVENTION INTERN
HazingPrevention.Org is a non-profit organization operating from Denver. It’s mission is to empower people to prevent hazing. The organization is offering a 15-20 hour per week internship for a period of 3-4 months. The intern will work from the HPO Denver office and will be provided lodging in a furnished townhouse (with the CAMPUSPEAK intern). This internship is unpaid, but there is a possibility of an honorarium at the end for outstanding work. HPO will also work with students who wish to earn academic credit for the internship. The start and end dates are flexible, and work can be structured to allow for an additional part-time job. The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate student with a strong opposition to hazing and an interest in student affairs, non-profit management, marketing or business. The intern will need to be highly motivated with strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated leadership ability and strong organizational skills.
The HPO Intern will work on social media campaigns, research content for the website, collect data on campus hazing prevention efforts, communicate with key volunteers, assist with logistical planning for national meetings, promote the organization’s programs, and assist with general office tasks.
To apply, send a resume, a cover letter explaining your interest and thoughts about hazing prevention, and a list of references to: Tracy Maxwell, Executive Director, at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Applications will be received through November 7 with an anticipated starting date in January or February 2012.
